At present, we have two major training initiatives…
Inclusion Fusion is Key Ministry’s FREE, worldwide Disability Ministry Web Summit. It represents a forum for Christ-followers everywhere to share ideas and resources to advance the movement to fully welcome and include children and adults with disabilities and their families in the life of the local church.
Inclusion Fusion offers prerecorded videos made available “on-demand” to conference registrants, supplemented by interactive online chats and experiences. We seek to promote a dialogue around how to most effectively share God’s love with families who historically have confronted substantial barriers to church participation and form relationships that advance the building of God’s Kingdom.
Our Web Summits have offered speakers representing a broad range of ministry interests and passions. Videos from Inclusion Fusion have been viewed well in excess of 20,000 times.
We plan to offer multiple, interactive training experiences on a monthly basis- “Key Talks” covering a far more comprehensive range of topics than possible at any one training event available at times that allow any ministry leader to participate.
We’re in the process of re-evaluating our live training as an organization. All of us enjoy the opportunity to get out on the road and meet the people who read our blog posts and use our resources. We’re just not sure that the way we were training (one-day events) was the best stewardship of time…for ourselves, and the people coming to our training. When we started looking at why, we recognized that folks would leave a training enthusiastic to move forward, but struggle to take the next step. One step we took in response was to hire two outstanding church consultants available to come alongside those seeking to grow their ministry.
We continue to evaluate requests for live training on a case-by-case basis. The criteria we use to determine the invitations we accept are…
- Potential impact for expanding the Kingdom
- Ability to meet/network with other leaders for future ministry projects
- Ease of travel
- Compatibility with family schedule, work demands
